Through its Music Pre-Education program, our musical kindergarten aims to develop one of the key factors that play a crucial role in the HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT of children.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"317\" data-end=\"705\">Preschool education cannot exist without music and movement activities, as children\u2019s lives would be poorer without musical stimuli and opportunities for kinetic expression. <em data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"703\">&#8220;Home, nature, and school are three influences in children&#8217;s lives, and when these combine harmoniously, children experience the beauty of the world in which they can grow, like a plant reaching for the light.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"926\">Music is an essential part of daily life. At Mikros Maestros&#8217; musical kindergarten, music becomes part of children&#8217;s everyday experiences through singing, creative movement, playing instruments, and mindful listening.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"1472\">A well-organized musical environment, such as our musical kindergarten, supports and enhances learning in other areas, including mathematics, oral communication, reading, writing, natural sciences, geography, history, visual arts, and dramatic arts. Rousseau emphasized that music should be introduced in an enjoyable way from an early age due to its significant impact on children&#8217;s psychological, emotional, and social development. <strong data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1470\">Psychomotor, cognitive, emotional, and social skills are at a critical stage of development at this age.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1910\">Singing, listening to music, playing simple instruments, experimenting with sounds, improvisation, rhythmic phrasing, dramatization, body percussion, and playing Orff percussion instruments all become opportunities for activities connected to other areas of learning. <em data-start=\"1742\" data-end=\"1895\">&#8220;Studies highlight that linking music with other subjects positively affects students&#8217; overall academic performance, facilitating knowledge retention.&#8221;<\/em> (Papagaris).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1947\"><strong data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"1945\">Infant Age 1-2 Years<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1949\" data-end=\"2248\">Infants are soothed by gentle songs and musical boxes. An unborn baby is calmed by the mother&#8217;s rocking and the melody of her lullabies. At 1-2 years old, children spend hours banging boxes together, listening to the different sounds, or repeatedly dropping a ball just to hear the sound it makes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2250\" data-end=\"2861\">From an early age, children need stimuli\u2014musical stimuli\u2014to support their development across all abilities. They require musical expression experiences such as simple song performances, listening to music throughout the day, playing sound-making objects, and hearing classical music during meals, diaper changes (with songs), bedtime (with lullabies), playtime, and physical activity. Up to one year old, babies listen to <strong data-start=\"2672\" data-end=\"2711\">Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart<\/strong> in carefully selected forms\u2014during sleep (where they spend most of their time) and during physical activities to support optimal brain development.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2863\" data-end=\"3217\">We also use sound-producing objects such as blankets or socks with bells, various materials that create different sounds, and more. From 1-2 years old, early learning experiences are based on <strong data-start=\"3055\" data-end=\"3082\">sensorimotor activities<\/strong>. Children learn best when they can explore, discover, and imitate within their environment\u2014looking, touching, tasting, and smelling.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3219\" data-end=\"3585\">Physical education programs are divided into <strong data-start=\"3264\" data-end=\"3286\">gross motor skills<\/strong> (hands, feet, torso\u2014physical education with music) and <strong data-start=\"3342\" data-end=\"3363\">fine motor skills<\/strong> (fingers\u2014songs with hand puppets, musical storytelling). A key aspect of sensory-motor development at this age is when infants experience hugging, rocking, tickling, and playing hand and finger games throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3587\" data-end=\"3935\">However, <strong data-start=\"3596\" data-end=\"3681\">only through repetition can neural communication and coordination be strengthened<\/strong>. Many musical games, sound-producing objects, and <strong data-start=\"3732\" data-end=\"3759\">sensory play activities<\/strong> are included in Mikros Maestros&#8217; program. Classical music, as well as Greek and international songs, rocking melodies, and lullabies, are incorporated into daily activities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3937\" data-end=\"4209\">This age group also <strong data-start=\"3957\" data-end=\"3974\">loves dancing<\/strong>, as movement is naturally encouraged through songs, storytelling, and dramatization. Children enjoy <strong data-start=\"4075\" data-end=\"4092\">animal sounds<\/strong>, hide-and-seek games, rhythm-based movement, molding and exploring materials, and engaging with sensory materials.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4216\" data-end=\"4247\"><strong data-start=\"4220\" data-end=\"4245\">Toddler Age 2-3 Years<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4249\" data-end=\"4556\">At <strong data-start=\"4252\" data-end=\"4269\">2-3 years old<\/strong>, music and body movement (body percussion) continue to play an essential role. Children at this stage develop <strong data-start=\"4380\" data-end=\"4411\">attention and memory skills<\/strong>. They can repeatedly sing songs in perfect rhythm and maintain steady beats for short periods using both body percussion and Orff instruments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4558\" data-end=\"4978\">They begin to sing and tap along to songs, strengthening memory, expression, communication, and movement coordination through rhythmic patterns and verbal expressions. Mikros Maestros integrates <strong data-start=\"4753\" data-end=\"4791\">music and movement education daily<\/strong>, combining rhythm-based physical education, playing Orff instruments, working on sound stories with the body and instruments, and <strong data-start=\"4922\" data-end=\"4950\">introducing Boomwhackers<\/strong> and basic notation games.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4980\" data-end=\"5284\">Children <strong data-start=\"4989\" data-end=\"5051\">engage their bodies, senses, and creativity simultaneously<\/strong>, developing motor coordination, rhythm, and singing. They also interact with scarves, ribbons, hoops, parachutes, and <strong data-start=\"5170\" data-end=\"5211\">Montessori-inspired sensory materials<\/strong>. Nature-based materials and <strong data-start=\"5240\" data-end=\"5256\">sensory play<\/strong> further support learning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5286\" data-end=\"5582\">This is a fundamental stage in <strong data-start=\"5317\" data-end=\"5336\">music education<\/strong>, encompassing the three core aspects:<br data-start=\"5374\" data-end=\"5377\" \/>\u2714 <strong data-start=\"5379\" data-end=\"5438\">Listening \u2013 Musical Perception \u2013 Instrument Exploration<\/strong><br data-start=\"5438\" data-end=\"5441\" \/>\u2714 <strong data-start=\"5443\" data-end=\"5485\">Performance through Movement and Dance<\/strong><br data-start=\"5485\" data-end=\"5488\" \/>\u2714 <strong data-start=\"5490\" data-end=\"5522\">Singing and Vocal Expression<\/strong><br data-start=\"5522\" data-end=\"5525\" \/>\u2714 <strong data-start=\"5527\" data-end=\"5580\">Creativity, Improvisation, and Sound Storytelling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5589\" data-end=\"5622\"><strong data-start=\"5593\" data-end=\"5620\">Preschool Age 3-4 Years<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5624\" data-end=\"6066\">At <strong data-start=\"5627\" data-end=\"5644\">3-4 years old<\/strong>, children experience a <strong data-start=\"5668\" data-end=\"5688\">transition phase<\/strong>, becoming more active and engaged in music. They develop a preference for clear rhythms, such as orchestral and folk music, and begin to synchronize multiple movements (e.g., hopping like horses, bending knees, spinning, waving arms, sitting and standing\u2014all in rhythm).
